Born and raised in the state of Maine, I grew up with a real love for nature and the great outdoors. Even today those same activities that I enjoyed as a child including skiing, hiking, and boating continue to provide the environment that inspires my creativity. Watching wildlife, especially birds, is a real passion for me. My love for travel is also reflected in the diversity of the art that I create.

My artistic skills became evident at a very early age. As a result my parents encouraged me to take as many art classes as possible. After high school I attended The Craft School where I majored in pottery and metal fabrication. It was not until attending the University of Washington however that I realized my true love was in painting. The freedom and spontaneity of watercolor became the primary vehicle for my artistic expression although I enjoy using a diversity of mediums. Organic forms that reflect images of nature are my favorite subjects. Local scenes captured in sketches, photographs, or mental impressions are the inspirations for much of my art. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Utah. I also hold a teaching degree in art from Prescott College in Arizona.

In my winter home of Park City, Utah I display my art in local galleries and shops as well as in numerous private collections. I teach a number of workshops for the local community which enables me to share my passion with children as well as adults. My art continues to demonstrate my true love for nature and I maintain my search for new challenges that nurture further growth and change in my expressions in my art.
